Consistently ranked in the top 10 over the last 3
years in the intermediate class, Elsinore Equinox has reinvented
itself for the 2004 season. Rob and Kevin have added Don Mullenix
and Steve Simar to the line-up with hopes of a top 3 finish at this
year’s U.S. Nationals.
History:
2001 - Rob Cope (RC), Marti Cope (Point), Frank Weidler
(Tail) and Kevin Thompson (FC). We competed at the Arizona Nationals
with Tammi Rettig (RC) when Rob broke his arm falling off a bull
dozer or something. We placed 11th in AA Division with a 10.00 average.
2002 - Rob Cope (RC), Marti Cope (Point), Chaz Wynn
(Tail) and Kevin Thompson (FC). We competed at the Chicago Nationals
and placed 9th with a 9.60 average.
2003 - Rob Cope (RC), Michael James (Point), Chaz
Wynn (Tail) and Kevin Thompson (FC). We did not compete at Lake
Wales Nationals
Forged when the world was young and man, bird and beast were one
and death was but a dream...
OK... so we put this thing together just over 4 years
ago... Rob and Kevin are still searching for the right amount of
talent, chemistry and dedication to turn an every other weekend
team into a Nationals contender. This year, the team comprises all
these facets and more. With a solid commitment in May of 2004 from
all four team members we hope to do very well at Perris in October.
This Year:
Don Mullenix brings years of skydiving experience
and a hunger for a medal at Nationals to add to his already large
collection. Steve Simar is young and ambitious and hopes to use
Equinox as a stepping stone to greater things. Led by John Hamilton's
watchful eye and years of coaching experience, this team has great
expectations. The team as a whole hopes to gel as one… and
with Nationals at Perris in both 2004 and 2005, we are looking at
a long-term commitment to place in the top 3 in 2004 and to place
#1 in 2005.
Current Line-up:
Kevin Thompson – Front Center, Rob
Cope – Rear Center, Don Mullenix
– Tail, Steve Simar – Point.
